Emma Frankland is an award winning theatre-maker and performer.

For the past 5 years her practice has focussed on politically motivated performances surrounding issues of gender and identity (relating to her own experience as a trans woman). None of Us is Yet a Robot create groundbreaking performance work based on transgender identities & the politics of transition.

Emma has created a diverse collection of work and was featured in the British Council Showcase at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival with an anarchic adaptation of Don Quijote. The show won the Wildfire Critic’s Choice award at the 2014 Ignite festival and has toured the UK and internationally, appearing in Rio de Janeiro at Festival del Tempo. Emma is an associate artist with Coney and a regular collaborator with Chris Goode and Company. She is an established dramaturge for other artists and companies including Milk Presents and Rachael Clerke. Emma is a two-time Fringe First award winner and Total Theatre Award nominee.

None of Us is Yet a Robot have presented work in Paris (Trans Time) Sao Paulo (Mix Brazil/ SSEX BBOX) Jakarta (British Council) and across the UK (Buzzcut, BAC, Forest Fringe, CPT, Brighton Dome.) The company is supported by a steering group of leaders in the arts, gender and science.

Abby Butcher is a Creative Producer working in contemporary, interdisciplinary performance.

Her practice is focused on creating platforms that increase visibility and understanding of trans and queer rights.

She co-run's The Marlborough Theatre, and works with Emma Frankland as Creative Producer for None of Us is Yet a Robot.

From 2010 - 2013, she worked at Brighton Live Art venue The Basement as Arts Administrator and then Programme Manager. In 2013 she embarked on her freelance career, collaborating with performance artists and taking up post at The Marlborough Theatre, Brighton, in 2017 we became members of Live Art UK. She's continued to work in venues and independently with contemporary performance makers.

She is a passionate champion of queer performance work.
